Full disclosure, I took this picture last year (2011). Because I have yet to see this guy in 2012 – I did the best I could with what I had on file.
The story goes, this guy cried when my Mom brought me home from the hospital. He was the one boy in a family of four – now five – girls, and he was not happy about that fact. If the story is true, it may explain why he and I annoy each other.
Regardless of the picking and bickering, we still love each other. (Whatever. You love me!) Our Dad died before I was married, and this guy honored me by walking me down the aisle. (Bonus: He didn’t even trip me!) So today, January 9th 2012, I wish my one and only brother (the best one and only brother) a happy 50th birthday! Cheers to you!

Aw! Happy birthday to your fave brother! (mine didn’t trip me going down the aisle either! ha!)
We are the luckiest girls, ever, Darla! Thank goodness our bros took the straight and narrow on our wedding day, eh? Sha’woo!
On Saturday, my brother told me he liked my hair. ???Surprise, surprise, furthest thing from my mind…truly I need a haircut. Aren’t brothers just the best?
Aw! That’s awesome. I actually teared up when I read your comment, Georgette. My brother has said sweet things to me from time to time. (At least I ASSUME he has. (smile)) He and I really do battle, but I am so grateful to have him in my life.
Happy Birthday on a milestone one!!
How did I miss your comment, Georgette? Thank you muchly!
Great tribute to the big brother!
Thanks, Julie. He’s worthy of a great tribute.
Doesn’t it make your heart happy? Happy 50 to your brother.
I’m one of seven, but my three brothers have passed away: one at 26, another at 40, and the oldest at 57.
Blessings – Maxi
So very young, Maxi! You lost your brothers when they were so very young. My heart aches for you.
I will be sure to give my brother an extra tight hug the next time I see him. Blessings to you, Maxi.
Hahaha…
love that expression!
And I hope your brother has a wonderful birthday, too!
🙂
He was showing off the cream in his doughnut, as he just won a prize for finding the cream filled doughnut. Thanks for the wonderful birthday wishes for my bro!
That picture is awesome! Happy Birthday to him!
He’s goofy, Bridget. Annoyingly goofy! (smile) Thanks for the birthday wishes. My hope is he’ll visit and see these responses.
Happy birthday to your brother!
Thanks muchly, Vix!
I can’t wait for my youngest brother’s birthday (it’s the same as mine!!!) He was born on my 17th birthday. For years everyone thought he was mine (when I married and moved away, I missed him most). My 3 brothers (out of 8 children) were the youngest and we really didn’t grow up together.
How sweet that you missed him the most! I would miss my brother if he moved away – for certain.
What a great shot! But try to teach that young man to have some respect for pastries – jeesh.
(Happy b-day to him.)
My brother may be disrespectful in some ways, but he gets a pass with the pastry. He was showing off the fact that his doughnut had a cream filling. He won the prize. The other 11 doughnuts did not have a filling, and yes – it was a game.
Perfect!
Hello Kathie! Thank you so much for stopping by my ‘place’. I appreciate leaving a note behind, too. Glad you liked it!
Great photo, LD. Add my wishes for a terrific birthday.
Aw shucks, Lisa – thanks very much. Consider your wishes added to the basket. Thank you!
Hi Lenore,
A very Happy Birthday to your Brother, and happy to hear everything went well at the wedding. 😀
Hello Mags, thank you for stopping by and extending wishes to my brother. Yeah – my brother was a real gentleman on my wedding day. Sha’woo! 🙂
Do all brothers behave like that?! Great fun. Happy birthday to him!
Yes, Patti, I believe it is true. *sigh*
Belated happy Birth day to your brother Lenore. The best gift god gift us is elder brother, because he never let us to worry about anything. I say to my friends that, “I do not need to worry about anything, i have a superman with me.” 🙂
Thank you, Arindam. I suppose my brother is a sort of superman to me, too.
Yes, happy belated birthday to your brother – and great pic! 🙂
Also – thank you, thank you, thank you for being the only person I’ve seen in the blogosphere who knows that this is a leap year! (366 days not 365 this year!)
Good to see you again, Val. I’m late on checking out your latest creation – I will check it out today, for certain.
I’ve noticed several places where the year is listed as 365 not 366. Folks need to ‘get in the know’! (smile)
