I heard the news today. Oh boy.
No, I am not singing a Beatles song. I really did hear the news today, and I really did utter an “Oh boy”.
After hearing the news, I took to the internet to find articles about what I had heard. My heart was sinking. Still, I mustered through the morning, which included seeing my son take part in his class play. On my way to my boss’ house, I heard the sad news again, and I began to talk to myself. I knew a post was pending.
I set up my laptops for work and checked my email. Immediately, I noticed the subject of one certain email from a longtime friend. Read more
Recently, on two separate occasions, I professed I was a writer. Each time, my declaration startled me. I quickly fumbled and confessed that my writing consisted of note writing and blogging. I made certain the people to whom I was speaking knew I was neither a published writer nor a paid writer.
What triggered my claim? My boys.
See, I was meeting with their teachers, and both teachers made a point to say that the boys had a passion for writing. According to the teachers, my oldest loves writing in his journal at school, and my youngest loves writing notes throughout his school day. Read more
If you read my post from yesterday, you know my plan was thwarted due to Mr. Man informing me that ‘no cameras were allowed‘. Well, even though Mr. Man literally sits at the little round table in front of me (no, I’m not kidding), I am not going to be deterred. I will write a post about my bestest blogging buddies.
Mr. Man, you will not sidetrack me. Though you sit across from me, and you are probably trying to hack into my laptop, ensuring all camera programs are disconnected and all picture files are deleted, I will still write. You cannot keep me silent.
You may have the ability to place a lens cap on my photos, but you cannot put a lens cap on my voice. Oh no, Mr. Man, I still have my voice. And today – today I am going to use my voice. Watch me, Mr. Man. Watch me, and listen to me. Oh, and smile for the camera. *click* Read more
My intent is to share with you 10 things I know for sure that I don’t know. Please understand, I know for sure that I don’t know more than 10 things. I am not making a claim that there are only 10 things I don’t know for sure I don’t know.
Should I add the fact that you don’t know what I am trying to say to my list of things I know for sure that I don’t know? Then again, I don’t know if you do know what I am trying to say. Well, add that unknown to the list of things I know for sure that I don’t know.
Not knowing things is confusing! I hope I know more and don’t know less in my next life. I also want to live in Maine in my next life. But, because I know for sure that I want to live in Maine in my next life, the information does not belong within a post specifically about things I know for sure that I don’t know. You know? While singing to myself, “Hot town, Summer in the city; Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty… ” My computer alerted me to a new email. Though I am sure I was busy doing something super important (other than singing, of course), I opened up my email to see who sent me a note.
The note was from my friend Tracy. The subject was “What is your favorite Ben & Jerry’s ice cream?”
An email about ice cream?! By all means, the super important something that had my attention seconds ago went to the back burner. I opened the email to find the subject line was the only information. Tracy had a simple question, and she didn’t feel the need to add anything to the body of the email. I appreciated her brevity, especially since ice cream was the subject. Read more
