Mr. Man will not deter me today

If you read my post from yesterday, you know my plan was thwarted due to Mr. Man informing me that ‘no cameras were allowed‘. Well, even though Mr. Man literally sits at the little round table in front of me (no, I’m not kidding), I am not going to be deterred. I will write a post about my bestest blogging buddies.

Mr. Man, you will not sidetrack me. Though you sit across from me, and you are probably trying to hack into my laptop, ensuring all camera programs are disconnected and all picture files are deleted, I will still write. You cannot keep me silent.

You may have the ability to place a lens cap on my photos, but you cannot put a lens cap on my voice. Oh no, Mr. Man, I still have my voice. And today – today I am going to use my voice. Watch me, Mr. Man. Watch me, and listen to me. Oh, and smile for the camera. *click* Continue reading “Mr. Man will not deter me today”

No Title, No Rhyme, No Reason – Just a Ramble

I am in a state of flux. Wait a second; I’m not known for my vast verbal knowledge. However, I am known to use words inappropriately. Let me make certain ‘flux’ is the right word.

Wow. My apologies, Readers. According to Merriam-Webster, the noun form of the word flux means, “a flowing of fluid from the body: as (a) diarrhea (b) dysentery.” Trust me when I say, I am not in a state of having fluid flow from my body. Moreover, I had no intention of starting off my post this way.

Keep in mind, there are 6 separate definitions for the word flux. The fourth definition is as follows: “(a): influx (b): change, fluctuation <in a state of flux>.” I believe the fourth meaning is what I am after when I say, “I am in a state of flux.” My intention is to let you know that things are moving quickly in my world. Change is taking place, and I am having a hard time finding footing in the shifting sand. Wheels are turning … many different wheels.

Note to self: Don’t try to impress with big words (or little words as it were) and fancy phrases, just say what you mean and mean what you say. Continue reading “No Title, No Rhyme, No Reason – Just a Ramble”

On the Record

Yesterday, I wrote a post about a conversation that took place between my friend and I. Fearing E.O. would appear at my doorstep with flowers and candy, I decided to pull the post within an hour of publishing. After all, I’m an ice cream kind of gal. Flowers and candy do not impress me, and I didn’t want to risk finding out E.O. is lactose intolerant.

I’ve written and published 290 posts since beginning this blog in January 2010. Prior to last night, I had not pulled any posts.

When I tried to go to bed last night, my mind went into overdrive. I had visions of me walking around with a notebook and cassette recorder, talking with friends and family. During discussions, my friends and family would ask, “Are you putting this conversation on the record?” As the scenes in my head played out, I noticed conversations began to come to a halt whenever I walked into a room.
