The pooches went to the vet this week for their annual exam. Because the two play together by tugging and chewing the other one’s collar, we do not put rabies vaccine tag on their collar. No worries people, the pooches are vaccinated.
The pooches celebrate their 10th birthday in September, so we opted to have their senior blood-work done. I’m always a little sad when the pooches I’ve loved over the years hit the two digit mark. The nearly 10yrs we have enjoyed with Wilbur and Cherokee have flown by so fast. I hope we have several more years with these precious pups.
Here’s a shot of Cherokee, resting in the back of the car after visiting with the vet.

Well I can see s/he has all her/his teeth. That’s good.
She does have all her teeth – and her gums are in really good shape, too, Georgette. It’s funny, because bad teeth in dogs can contribute to other health issues, similar to humans. Thanks for visiting!
If both are as healthy looking as Cherokee, I am happy thinking you will be enjoying many more years with your pups.
Great shot. Cherokee doesn’t look anywhere near as traumatized by the trip to the doc as my cat is! You’re right…pet double digits are scary…and often expensive. 😦
Both she and Wilbur handle the vet visits pretty well. They are not scared, but they sure are interested in all the smells and sounds.
Thank you for visiting, Linda.
Cherokee looks like an absolute sweetheart! aw!
She is most definitely that, Darla. Most definitely.
Awwww…
another great photo, Ms. D…
🙂
Aaaaaaw… thanks, SIG. (hee, hee)
What a cutie! My hubby just bought a really expensive, complicated camera, but he doesn’t know how to use it. Can you come over and give him lessons?
Hilarious, Peg. I barely know how to use mine. Mine has all sorts of switches and knobs. I tried to look at the manual, but I became more confused. I’m not sure I’d be of much help to your hubby. The joy of digital cameras is the ‘delete’ button. 🙂
You never know what might come up at a visit to the vet … hope it went well for your pooches.
Blessings – Maxi
The vet went well, Maxi. Both dogs came back with a clean bill of health (for their age). Here’s to many more years together.
What a pretty pup!
You’re right, it is sad to see them aging, I even feel that way about our stupid dog.
Your puppy isn’t stupid, Bridget. He loooooves you. 🙂 And yea – watching them get old is sad. Love my pooches.
Cherokee is really cute. 🙂
Thank you, Arindam. You have good taste in dogs. 🙂
Cherokee looks relieved to be out of the vet’s office. 😉
I thought so too, Jackie! Love my pooch.
Hi,
A beautiful dog. It is very sad indeed when our beloved pets start to get older, they seem to be with us for such a short time, put always plenty of moments to cherish.
Cherokee looks fantastic, and I’m sure you and your family have a lot of happy years yet to come, with your pets. 🙂
Hello Mags, I’m bias – but I agree, Cherokee is a beautiful dog. We are definitely cherishing our moments with our ‘puppies’. These pictures are a nice thing to keep for reflection. Thank you for visiting.
I get so sentimental when I see a white-muzzled dog.
Me, too, Steve. Wilbur has more white on his muzzle. *sigh* The puppies are getting older.
Her teeth are beautiful. As are her eyes. What a lovely dog!
Thank you, Stasha. Cherokee is a looker – for certain.
My dog loved to go to the vet. They spoiled him rotten! Pretty pooch you have there.
Thanks, Patti. She is a pretty pooch – if I do say so myself.
