Another day and another drabble, which is a short story of exactly 100 words.
I encourage you to flex your writing muscles and take part. Tag your post with ‘Friday Drabble’ and use the hash-tag #fridaydrabble on Twitter.
.: Excitement :.
“You know we are!” She huffed.
She knew thoughts of special outings and adventures triggered excitement, and she knew she would be hounded with the same question over and over again: “Are we going?” Still, she regretted voicing her idea two days ago. She should have kept it to herself until today.
The plan was not grandiose, just a day exploring the train museum. Yes, her family loved trains, but she was surprised by the extent and the source of the excitement. She was exhausted.
“So, it’s a yes?”
Looking at her husband, she sighed. “Yes, Dear. It’s a yes.”

LOL The biggest kids! And they ALL love trains.
True, true, Patti!
Hi,
Had to have a bit of a smile, my Father is a train fanatic, and the she sighed fits very well. 😀
Oh, I am glad I made you smile, Mags. Thanks so much for coming by and visiting.
Mom’s a fatigued hero before the trip even begins!
She’ll find a nice quiet spot in the museum and bask in the joy the ‘boys’ are having. 🙂
Exactly 100 words? I could probably pull that off but my last sentence would look like broken English. 🙂
I find that hard to believe, Mel. Give it a shot next week. You can do it!!
When people ask how many children we have, this is why we always add one extra (hubby).
Blessings – Maxi
Exactly! Blessings to you, Maxi.
Another terrific post, LD! You put me to shame : )
Ha! You’re hilarious, Lisa. I most certainly do NOT put you to shame, though it is nice of you say. 🙂
