We are lucky enough to live within 5 miles of Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Beginning on Thanksgiving, Santa and his wife open their house to the public every night thru Christmas Eve.
Santa begins the decorating process early in October, adding new decorations every year. We enjoy driving by their house in the fall, watching Santa prepare his grounds wearing his standard blue jeans and a red shirt. I don’t know that I’ve ever driven by Santa’s house and not seen him in a red shirt and jeans.
Visiting Santa has become a fun tradition for us. We look forward to the visit with the same anticipation little ones look to the sky in hopes of seeing Rudolph. Last night, we paid our annual visit. I hope this finds you enjoying your own holiday traditions.
From our house to your house, we wish you health, happiness and hope.
It looks magical, Lenore!
Much peace and joy to you and your family for Christmas! 🙂
We’re not too far from TN, Jackie. 🙂 Peace and joy to you and your family, too! Thank you!
I hope you have a Merry and Joyous Christmas, LD. One that involves a lot of ice cream.
No lie – I am taking three half gallon containers of ice cream to my Mom’s house on Christmas day. Looks like Christmas will certain be a merry one! (smile) Thanks for the well wishes, Lisa. I extend the same to you.
You live that close to Santa and the mrs? You know my mom and dad?
Merry Christmas!
I believe I have met your Mom and Dad. Thanks for sharing such good folks with us. (smile)
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Oma.
Two very generous and dear human beings. What a gift to give to their community.
Agreed, Amy. They have been doing this for over 15yrs. I wish you could see their house – it is quite small and very modest. There entire place is decorated inside and out. Their grandkids dress up as elves, and help with the lines, etc. Recently (within two months), Santa had a pacemaker installed, yet he was still here for the kids. Wonderful wonderful selfless family.
Where do the little atheist Jewish children go?
All are welcome. Free candy cane for those willing to believe. (HA!)
Annabelle and I hope that your family had a wonderful Christmas, Ms. D! And we are wishing you the happiest of new years as well!!!
🙂
Thank you muchly, SIG. I send the same wishes to you and Annabelle.
What fun! I love people who decorate like crazy and open their homes to the public. I wish there was one her in Anchorage.
I hope you had a great holiday, Lenore:)
We did, Bridget, thank you. We are so lucky to have this family close to us. They’ve been doing this for over 15yrs. Truly amazing.
Lenore, I hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas! Thanks so much for sharing the magic through your children’s eyes. What a special place!
Nancy, we did have a wonderful Christmas, and I hope the same was true for you and your family. Thanks for taking a moment and peeking into the world of Mr. & Mrs. Claus. They really do have a special place.
I expected more snow at the North Pole! lol
Yes, well – the kids would get too cold. Santa does a good job of cleaning it up for his guests.
