Project 366: Day 10

My apologies, I am pulling from the picture archives again, because I am sharing a picture of someone else I’ve yet to see in  2012.

As I listen to my youngest aggravate his older brother to no end, I have a greater appreciation for what this gal dealt with when she was younger. I can only hope I was no where near as annoying as Charlie is to Joe, though I have a feeling I was probably worse. Joe is only a year older than Charlie, and this gal is five years older than me. (16yr olds love it when their 11yr old sister is tagging along and/or causing trouble.) Thankfully, my sister didn’t write me off; I grew up. and we became friends.

Today, January 10th, 2012, I wish my sister, Celestial (not her real name), a happy birthday. (She’s pictured with our niece, SkippyJon Jones. (not her real name)) Continue reading “Project 366: Day 10”

Project 366: Day 9

2012: A Photo A Day

Full disclosure, I took this picture last year (2011). Because I have yet to see this guy in 2012 – I did the best I could with what I had on file.

The story goes, this guy cried when my Mom brought me home from the hospital. He was the one boy in a family of four – now five – girls, and he was not happy about that fact. If the story is true, it may explain why he and I annoy each other.

Regardless of the picking and bickering, we still love each other. (Whatever. You love me!) Our Dad died before I was married, and this guy honored me by walking me down the aisle. (Bonus: He didn’t even trip me!) So today, January 9th 2012, I wish my one and only brother (the best one and only brother) a happy 50th birthday! Cheers to you! Another Ghost of My Blogging Past

I have spent the day wondering what I would write about in my next post. One topic brewing relates to the word ‘fair’, but the topic is still cooking and needs more time to simmer.

As I flipped through various  news stories and headlines, I started noticing more and more ‘year in review’ headlines. While scanning the blogosphere, I am seeing an increase in posts related to resolutions.

Christmas day has come and gone, and Hanukkah’s 8th night is tonight. After today, all eyes will be on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, gym memberships, and a rebirth sought through resolutions.

Well, I won’t play that game.

Though I may try to stay awake until midnight on December 31st, I have no grand plans for ringing in the new year. I am not joining a gym, and I am not making any resolutions. Continue reading “Another Ghost of My Blogging Past”
