Last night, while the blue moon was shining bright, Neal Boortz tweeted his thought that the first full moon after August 25th should be named the Neil Armstrong Moon.
Up before the sun, I went walking this morning. The blue moon lit my path, and I thought of Neil Armstrong the entire way. Kinda nice walking in the moonlight, and remembering the first man on the moon. I think Neal Boortz is right. The first full moon after August 25th (the day Neil died) should be named the Neil Armstrong moon. Spread the word.

It was lovely…I looked at it, remembered Neil Armstrong…and smiled.
What an amazing man and an amazing event.
I like this, Lenore. As we drove up to Dallas we saw all flags half staff.
That warms my heart, Georgette. I think having a full moon named after Neil Armstrong would be a very respectable tribute.
Wonderful tribute. I heard it from you first and now I see others concur. Perfect post.
I’m so glad it was a clear night. I was out on the water, which was smooth as glass and for a few minutes I just sat there in awe of the moon’s beauty, which I do every full moon, but this one was special. I winked.
What a wonderful setting, HC. So peaceful. While I did not wink that night, I did wink in the morning, which is when these pictures were taken. Oh fine, I’ll tell you the truth, I winked and talked to Neil, and then I winked more and laughed. I had to – the moon was following me during the entire walk. (And I loved it.)
So pretty LD!!!
It was pretty, Kim. Thank you.
We had a clear night here and the moon was shining bright and strong.
Nice that the clouds got the memo and cleared the way. 🙂
Great shots. Thanks for getting up so early to catch it for us. 🙂
You are most welcome, Patti. Thank you for visiting and taking a look at it. Come again. 🙂
Spread the word! Great idea, Lenore. Neil Armstrong stayed in the shadows; this is one way to let his light shine.
Blessings – Maxi
I agree, Maxi. I wonder if the idea will catch on with others. Stay tuned!
Beautiful thought and beautiful picture. I set out to photograph the blue moon but alas, a heavy cloud cover hid it. In lieu of that, I honored it by drinking a nice, cold blue moon beer with a slice of lemon 🙂
I think drinking a nice cold Blue Moon beer was an excellent way to honor Neil. (refreshing, too) Cheers!! 🙂
I think that’s a pretty cool idea, Ms. D…
(and a beautifully photographed event, as well)!
🙂
Thanks, SIG. Look for the Neil Armstrong moon in August 2013. 🙂
