We pass this house Monday through Friday. I am unsure as to whether or not anyone lives in the house. For the most part, the house is silent. There is beauty in silence.

I am married. We have two boys, two dogs, and two cats. I am on the Oxford Comma team. I look forward to my first large cup of coffee, black, every single morning, and I look forward to that second large cup of coffee, still black, every single afternoon.

Look at those porches! I’m a tad porch obsessed. I love it.
Me, too, Julie. I hope to one day have a huge wrap around porch with at least one screened in section.
Maybe you can make a game of it for the boys to notice if they see any signs of “life” around that place.
Good idea, Georgette. A detective-type game. I like it!
Wow, so green and lush! I miss that. And porches. Nice shot Lenore!
Thank you, Leah. The green sure pops after a good rain.
Calm. Summer. Over too soon. *sigh*
My Mom leaves the beauty and calmness in two weeks. Her mourning process has started.
Man I’d love to live someplace like that. I’m not sure they exist in California.
Oh, I bet places like this one exist in CA. Northern CA, to be exact.
I had the same thoughts today. There is beauty in silence.
Looks like you could sit on that porch and contemplate life for hours.
There is an old barn in the backyard, too. You could contemplate life and listen to the barnyard animals. Sign me up! 🙂
This is a place that truly says: Home Sweet Home
Blessings – Maxi
Peaceful, eh Maxi? Blessings to you, too.
It looks like a great place!
Doesn’t it? I’d love to see the inside. I’m sure it needs work, but it’s got the foundation.
Beautiful, indeed!
Really makes you wonder about the history of this place, doesn’t it?! It those walls could talk, right?!
🙂
Hahaha! Yes, if those walls could talk. Thanks for visiting, SIG!
I want to go sit on those porches.
When I saw the title I thought it was going to be how your house is so silent with the boys back to school. Mine is, with my “little” 20-year-old back at college. But I’ve already written about that several times (in fact, it was my first post that started my blog), so I’m not going to (probably) whine about missing the kids again.
Earlier this week, my sister posted on her FB page that her middle son just returned to college and she cried. She has a silent house now, too.
While I am enjoying the silence from 9am until 2pm, the silence is a blur once they walk through the door. 🙂
