I spent Saturday at home, alone. It was wonderful. I was able to sit on the couch and read over 200 pages in one sitting. That feat almost never happens, for reasons including but not limited to interruptions, distractions, exhaustion and work.
The weather was windy and cold, so the dogs and I found warmth in blankets and furry dog beds. At one point, when I got up to handle some laundry, I returned to find my warm seatΒ was overtaken, and the new occupant was not phased at my return. Even after I took the first picture, he did not budge. Then I said, in a tone indicating he was being a bad puppy, “Wilbuuur.”
Did he budge? Only to strike another another pose. I love my dogs.

Aaaw, Wilbur knew that you weren’t serious ’cause of the picture takingβ¦
Happy Valentine’s Day, may it bring you love and kisses from Wilburβ¦
Blessings – Maxi
You are probably right, Maxi. The minute I reached for the camera, Wilbur knew he could milk it. Cutie.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Maxi!! Blessings!
Ha! Ha! Ha! I laughed out loud at the second picture. Guess he was trying to tell you something, huh?! Way too funny! That’s one smart puppy!
Isn’t it cute?! I don’t want to make a habit of posting two pictures, but honestly – I couldn’t resist. His second post just made me laugh. Love Wilbur!! Thanks for commenting, Andrea HT. Love you! Mean it!
Hahaha! Allie does the same thing. EVERY SINGLE TIME. For me, I just have to say, “Move it Allie.” For Hot Joe or Noah, they have to physically move her out of the way or just adjust themselves around her.
Cuz I’m the boss, that’s why.
Well, if I said it to Rob, Joe or Charlie they would have moved. HA! Alas, Wilbur ain’t skeered. π
Hi,
Dogs are funny that is for sure, and why is it that they always have to have the exact same spot you were in. My dog is the same, as soon as you get up, your spot is taken over. They are very smart indeed. π
I suppose one good thing about them snagging your spot … it is warm for when you return. π
That is very true. π
Is it weird that I saw his picture and immediately said, in a Mom voice, “Ohhh Wilbur!”
π Frank does the same thing … he’s a thief!
MJ
If they weren’t so cute, I might have to put up a greater fight. π Thank you, MJ!
Ditto. Frankie pretty much gets what ever he wants!
MJ
Ha Ha! My dog, Maggie, used to do the exact same thing!
So glad you could enjoy some R&R, Lenore Diane!
Thank you, AA – me, too! Dogs rule! π
Smart AND photogenic!
π
He’s a sweetie, SIG. Absolutely and positively!
He was just keeping it warm for you. π
Exactly!! π
Sweet puppy-wuppy. That puppy-wuppy face makes me want to toke wike a wittow bitty baby and make wots of cute wittow expressuns.
He’s getting gray. Is he older? (Sigh.) My only hang-up with getting a big dog. I love big dogs most of all, but I wish they had the life span of a terrier.
Yes! He IS getting older. Ugh. The white breaks my heart. You should see his belly. Nearly all white. I agree with you regarding the life span of dogs. Cherokee and Wilbur will be 10 in September. They are in good health, so I am hoping for another 3 yrs.
My neighbor had a Newfoundland who lived to be 17. No joke.
THAT is amazing. Wow. Well loved pooch, I assume.
