.: The Rain :.
Looking up, she closed her eyes and let the water rain down on her.
As the rain fell on her face, she smiled and thought “How peaceful.”
The rain helped to quiet the world around her; it was her escape.
There was no lightening; there was no thunder; only the sound of falling rain filled the air. As it fell, her stress washed away.
She looked down at her feet, watching the rain travel along its path.
She loved the rain and splashing in the puddles.
She wanted to stay longer, but it was time to turn off the shower.
Brilliant Lenore! You really did a wonderful job with only hundred words.
After reading this one, i am thinking about quitting this challenge. I can’t really match up to this level.
Thanks, Arindam. It is good to challenge yourself.
I loved it! You are so good at this, Lenore!
Aw shucks, thanks, Darla. Who knew Chatty Cathy could tone it down to just 100 words, eh?
Glad you liked it.
Paring back is hard to do — but you’ve done it well. Bravo!
MJ
Thank you, MJ. I am happy to know you enjoyed this drabble.
This reminds me that I wanted to get one of those “rainfall” shower heads the next time I’m at Home Despot… those things look awesome! 😀
Those shower heads DO look awesome, Steve. I am glad I reminded you to snag one of those puppies. Enjoy your rain shower!
Hahaha! You’re awesome for that little twist.
Thanks, Kim. You’re all sorts of awesome, too!
I love stories like this. Good Work.
I love these kinds of stories, too, Karyn. Glad you liked it.
Sigh. I love the shower.
Great story.
Yes – the shower is a wonderful place.
Thanks for visiting Byronic Man. I am glad you liked the story.
Oh, this is cute, Lenore Diane! You do these so well.
I love how you can capture attention in so few words and even surprise me in the end. Good one!
I am glad I surprised you, Bella. It is fun trying to create something in such a short span of ‘time’.
You have a gift for that last-second surprise. Keep up the great work, Lenore. I look forward to reading your wonderful blog in 2012.
P.S. I bought bananas the other day. It doesn’t look good.
A pleasure to see you here, Charles. Thank you for visiting.
It’s funny you mentioned bananas, I am unable to pick out the perfect bunch without thinking about you.
Lately, the bunches have been much too green. Always risky bringing home very, very green bananas. One never knows how they will ripen.
