In case you are new here, I am on day fifteen of 25 days and 25 different performances of the Christmas song, “O Holy Night”. For those of you who are not new, please pardon my repetitive opening throughout the course of these 25 days.
Two of my sisters and I love the song “O Holy Night”. After a series of emails with one of my sisters, I came up with the idea of sharing different versions/performances of the song “O Holy Night”.
Welcome to version number fifteen.
Yesterday, you heard Vince Gill’s performance of “O Holy Night”. Today, you’ll hear one of his country singing pals sing her version of the song. No, I am not presenting Amy Grant.
Remember, this whole idea of sharing different versions of “O Holy Night” started because of a conversation I had with two of my sisters. I ended up putting a compilation together for one of those sisters, who really enjoys this particular artist. Had I not created a CD for my sister, I’m not sure I would have listed this person as one of my favorites.
Regardless of the list she does or does not make, she has an incredible voice. She does well, alongside her Mom, but I prefer her solo performances.
I hope you’ll enjoy today’s version, as Wynnona Judd performs “O Holy Night”; and, I hope you’ll return tomorrow, when we start the top-10 list.
I am loving this series, Lenore 🙂
You have given me so many wonderful versions of one of my most favorite songs: thank you!!
MJ
MJ, you’ve made my day. I am glad you are enjoying this series. I had hoped it would strike a chord (no pun intended) with readers. I am glad you are finding new ways to hear a wonderful song.
Thank you!
Lenore
Wynnona Judd is one of my favorite performers and she doesn’t let us down with this one.
Thank you!
You are welcome, Maxi. Thank YOU for visiting and enjoying the various versions.
I had not heard this one, either. Wynnona did a nice job of it.
I love introducing you to new versions, Patti! Glad you liked this one!
I watched Wynnona’s face as Carrie Underwood sang How Great Thou Art… I can still picture her intense expression as I listen to her sing this. Heart and soul…
That is a beautiful song, Amy. I’ll have to look around to see if I can find the video online. I’m not surprised Wynnona was moved by Carrie’s performance. Wynnona is super spiritual, and Carrie has an incredible voice.
Another version I’ve never heard. I loved it!
I love the fact that I am sharing versions folks have not yet heard. Glad you liked it, Darla! Thanks for listening.
Terrific. I love Wynonna, but would never hve thought of her for this! Another great choice, LD!
Thanks, Lisa. I am happy my choices are being received so kindly.
This morning, a guy on the subway was playing O Holy Night on the accordion. I thought of you. 🙂
Excellent! That accordion player has excellent taste in music. 🙂 Thanks for thinking of me, Jackie!
