Project 366: Day 41

As I mentioned yesterday, I took a walk on Tuesday evening and explored our neighbor’s land.

Mr. John is a nature enthusiast, and though he welcomes explorers, he has no tolerance for anyone disturbing or destroying his property. I’m very fond of the fact that Mr. John caters to a very large beaver den bordering one of the small lakes. You will find many downed trees felled by the beavers.

While I was walking along the raised walkway noticing a freshly chewed tree, I heard frogs calling each other.  Because still pictures are unable to capture sound, I decided to take a ‘talking’ picture. I hope you enjoy frogs on Friday. Have a ‘hoppy’ weekend! Continue reading “Project 366: Day 41”

Project 366: Day 40

Tuesday evening, I took a walk  in, on, and around our neighbor’s land. He owns over 10acres of grassy and wooded flood plain, and he is very generous with his property, letting us explore whenever the mood hits.

There is a rickety old bridge that takes you to a little island in the middle of one of the lakes. With the sun setting behind me, I was able to capture a nice shot of Mr. John’s garage, where he keeps his trusty John Deere tractor safe and sound.

I hope your Thursday keeps you and your family safe and sound. Continue reading “Project 366: Day 40”

Project 366: Day 39

Last Friday, Joe had a play-date with a friend from school. The play-date was at the park, conveniently located next door to the school.

Joe, Charlie and I arrived at the park first. I noticed a girl from Joe’s class coming up the walkway. “Joe,” I said. “Here comes another friend of yours.” When he turned to see who else was coming, he screamed her name. She returned the scream, and the two ran to each other. (Apparently, having just parted ways 10 minutes prior was too long to be apart.) Then, Joe’s other friend arrived – the original person with whom the play-date was set.

For nearly two hours, the kids played on the playground, while the parents talked. What a wonderful day.

Here’s to your next play-date. Continue reading “Project 366: Day 39”
