Staying with the flower/plant focus of the week, I share this beauty with you.

Regardless of the fact that we ignore these daylilies, they continue to bloom for us year after year. I quite like these guys. Unfortunately, the group that was planted around a pine tree in the side yard did not do as well. One too many – turn away Patti – passes with the lawn mower ended their annual appearance. Project 366: Day 152

I find myself mesmerized by the translucence of the trees and the setting sunlight. Does that make sense? I rarely use the word ‘translucence’ in a sentence, so that may be a bunch of gobbely-gook. For the record, aside from me adding my name, these photos were not edited.

Project 366: Day 151

Yesterday, I informed you that Rob and I have not invested a penny into our yard. Today, I am letting you know that when I mow the lawn, I mow over a patch that once contained flowers. Perhaps the flowers were pansies, I don’t know.

When we bought the house, the mailbox was sectioned off by a circle of bricks, with flowers planted within the circle. I became increasingly frustrated with making my way around the bricks, so after several weeks, I pulled up the bricks and mowed the entire area. (Should I have prefaced that statement with ‘Graphic language, gardening-lover discretion advised’?)

Fear not, garden lovers. For pansies are, apparently, hydrangea-hardy. Look what I found in the patch of clover surrounding the mailbox. Continue reading “Project 366: Day 151”
