10 things I know for sure that I don’t know

My intent is to share with you 10 things I know for sure that I don’t know. Please understand, I know for sure that I don’t know more than 10 things. I am not making a claim that there are only 10 things I don’t know for sure I don’t know.

Should I add the fact that you don’t know what I am trying to say to my list of things I know for sure that I don’t know? Then again, I don’t know if you do know what I am trying to say. Well, add that unknown to the list of things I know for sure that I don’t know.

Not knowing things is confusing! I hope I know more and don’t know less in my next life. I also want to live in Maine in my next life. But, because I know for sure that I want to live in Maine in my next life, the information does not belong within a post specifically about things I know for sure that I don’t know. You know? With All Our Heart

I received an email from a friend of mine who runs an animal rescue organization. A fundraising event is in the planning/preparation stage, and my friend asked me if I would help. The date and location are set, but items are needed for the raffle and silent auction. (All proceeds raised for the fundraiser will go to her organization, Pick of the Litter, a  non-profit a 501c3 organization.)

Instantly, I posted a shout-out to my Facebook friends, asking for donations for the raffle and auction. Happily, I received three responses. Robin H. gave me a hand-knitted baby blanket, Robin C. is looking to see about getting items from KONG (the pet toy company), and a third friend – whose name is not Robin – sent me the following note:

“Lenore – My little company, DesignsByHeart, creates and sells products to help support animal rescue, rehabilitation, and education… I have a couple of products I can donate to this auction. Can I somehow send them to you and have you get them where they need to be? Email me, and give me the scoop on this. I’d love to sync up with this organization somehow… Thanks friend!!” Continue reading “With All Our Heart”

That thing called “perspective”

According to Merriam-Webster, the noun perspective means, “a : the interrelation in which a subject or its parts are mentally viewed <places the issues in proper perspective>; also : point of view b : the capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance”.

Earlier today, I found myself feeling a little frustrated with life. Fueled by hormones, I was borderline irritable and cranky, but I had to work. So, I sat on the couch and multi-tasked between two jobs and two different laptops. While I multi-tasked, I turned on my radio and tuned in to a local (though syndicated) talk show. I jockeyed between the two jobs, and I could feel myself becoming more anxious as I started focusing on my projects for the week. The more anxious I became, the less attentive I was to either job. Then I found myself distracted by the radio show, hearing the same audio clip played and replayed. The clip was recorded on May 22nd around 5:30 PM CDT in Joplin, Missouri, as a tornado tore through the city.
