My Marriage and the Septic Tank

My favorite post is this one: My Marriage and the Septic Tank. I started blogging in January 2010, because I was at a crossroads with my life. Depression and divorce was heavily on my mind. A year later, thanks to writing, counseling and medication, I found myself in a better place. This post reminds me that crap exists but maintenance can keep the pipes of life clean.

Septic Tank Man arrived this week, and he is a super hero. Armed with an excavator, an empty tank and a long hose, Septic Tank Man was here to pump out our tank. Septic Tank Man was here to clean up our crap.

When I started this blog over a year ago, I wrote to save myself and my marriage. I was battling depression and pushing back advice to take medication, and I was ready to leave my husband. (How very logical of me to decide to leave my husband while depressed, don’t you think?) Writing gave me a place of my own, where I could freely express my thoughts in a way that allowed me to deliberate and navigate my way through the maze. Where is Baby Tessa?

“Mom!” Stacey yelled from her room. “I can’t find my baby doll!”

“It’s wherever you put it last.” Stacey’s Mom yelled from the kitchen.

“But I had the doll in my bed, and now it is gone!” Stacey screamed.

“Would you please stop yelling!” Stacey’s Mom hollered back. She rolled her eyes and smiled, as she realized she was doing the very same thing. Continue reading “Where is Baby Tessa?”

I admit I’m a fan; please don’t hold it against me.

I am going to rant. If you do not watch or own a television, your time would be better spent reading another post. (Please return tomorrow, though. Tomorrow, my topic will not involve television.)

Before I begin my rant, I need to apologize. The world is turning, and there are several things taking place in the world deserving more attention than the topic of my rant. For instance, the U.S. Government is in the process of passing a new budget plan. While I have strong opinions about the need for government and budget reform, this is not a political rant. (Mr. E. Dempsey … the shutdown was averted.) Because I am taking time and energy to focus on something trivial, I apologize.

My friends, today I come to you to rant about Dancing with the Stars.
