I’m serious about the voices.

Dear Blogary,

I am confused. I have written three draft posts pertaining to current events during the months of April and May 2011. These drafts have turned into voices in my head, rattling around faster and louder when I catch news stories, other blog posts, Twitter feeds and Facebook commentaries.

Blogary, you know when you get really angry and write an angry letter or email, friends will advise you to sleep on it before sending, right? Friends (and family for that matter) advise you to give yourself a cooling off period. Well, I am doing my best to keep the voices in my head, giving myself  the recommended cooling off period. Alas, as I mentioned earlier, the voices increase when I stumble across other posts, news articles, editorials, etc. Continue reading “I’m serious about the voices.”

And then I received the email …

So, I’ve been frazzled lately. The voices in my head are in overdrive. I’ve written at least three draft posts, though the thoughts are too raw to share. Wanting to slowly release the steam from the bubbling and boiling thoughts in my head, I drove to work this morning with an idea.

A smile came across my face when I thought about checking into a hotel room for the weekend. Quiet time by myself. Time to sit, write and relax with only the noise in my head distracting me. Then I thought about finding a hotel room with an indoor pool. The boys could join me on Saturday afternoon for an indoor pool day. As I thought about my weekend getaway, I could hear the laughter of the boys playing in the water, and I could feel the refreshing water being splashed in my direction. To my Blogary I write

Dear Blogary,

I am in a funk. I’m not sure how it happened. Perhaps life has been moving too quickly, lately. Perhaps I’ve not invested enough time in sleep. Perhaps I’ve invested too much time in sleep. Unsure of the reasons why, I find myself in a funk. And Blogary, what follows may cost me some subscribers.

I was one of the millions who tuned in to the Royal Wedding today. I enjoyed shutting out the craziness of our current crises and losing myself in the magical enchantment of a Prince marrying a soon to be Princess. I remember when this Prince was a baby. He’s grown, and I believe his mother would be proud. I hope this marriage survives the scrutiny that will surround it. I hope Prince William inherited his mother’s resilience.
