Tooting My Family’s Horn – aka Our Christmas Letter

‘Tis the season for Christmas cards, letters and pictures.

Have you sent your batch of Christmas cards, yet? Do you sign the card, or do you have the family names printed? Do you send both a letter and a card? Do you simply send a Christmas family photo?

I buy Christmas cards through a children’s hospital, and I include a hand written note and family picture. Last year, I worked on our Christmas cards the weekend of Thanksgiving. I had those suckers out shortly after December 1st. This year? Well, I hope to complete the task before Christmas.

The Proverbial Bridge

Patti left me a comment. She wrote, “I don’t know if you “do” awards, but I have one for you on Thursday’s blog if interested.”

When I read her comment, I chuckled to myself. Who doesn’t appreciate a kind word? Who doesn’t appreciate a special nod, letting you know that what you do makes a difference in the life of someone else?

Don’t get me wrong, I am not equating a nod from a friend to curing Polio or winning the Nobel prize. However, if you are able to make someone smile, help him/her get through a rough day, or just give someone’s stress filled mind a bit of respite for a moment or two, is that not something to appreciate? The Occupy ‘Like’ Movement Starts Now

Like, I totally write like I talk. I mean, like, while I write, I totally hear my voice. It is so totally cool. Like, seriously cool. Interestingly enough, when I am writing, I am able to refrain from using the word ‘like’ inappropriately. Like, how weird is that?

Recently during dinner, our 6ry old was telling Rob and me about something that took place at school. Our 6yr old kid used the word ‘like’ more times than we could count.
