I’m back with a drabble.Β What’s a drabble? A drabble is a short work of fiction, exactly 100 words in length.
Join me. Create your own 100-word piece of fiction. The more dabbling with drabbles the merrier. Tag your post with ‘Friday Drabble’ and use the hash-tag #fridaydrabble on Twitter.
Today’s drabble was inspired by a song the boys and I listen to almost every day. I hope you’ll give it a listen when you are done reading the 100 words I put together for you.

Do you know how much I like you? Frankly, I more than like you. I love you.
I look forward to your sustenance every single day. You satisfy me. At the risk of sounding sappy, you complete me. Itβs true.
Sometimes you are fruity, and sometimes you are flakey. Sometimes you are playful and as sweet as candy, and sometimes you are serious, saving the sweetness for other things. Fruity or flakey, sweet or serious, you stand for wholesome goodness.
You are a rainbow of colors. You are a rainbow of flavors. You are my cereal, and I love you.

You’re hitting all the major food groups. Good Mom. π
Nice new theme by the way.
My own diet may not be the best, but I do try and make sure my kids diet is balanced. We are all grateful ice cream is part of one of the food groups, too.
ahhh…the LD surprise ending!
You know I like my surprise endings, Georgette. π
How ‘sweet,’ Lenore! And fruity…fun drabble.
Thank you, Patti. Just a little silliness I put together. It’s not my best, but it put a smile on my face.
I’ve been chided for my occasional use of cereal as a dinner option by other humans that live in my house. I guess everyone’s got their flaw.
I’d never chide you for eating cereal for dinner, unless the cereal was All Bran.
I haven’t made the switch to Rice Krispies yet — it’s Cream of Wheat ’til June. But I’m right there with you, my friend : ) Cereal rocks.
Mmmmm… Cream of Wheat. Love it. Do you add milk and brown sugar? Mmmm…. milk and brown sugar.
I take it Fruit Loops are the breakfast of choice around your house? I tend to have Frosted Mini Wheats in a baggie that I eat in the car. I’m not very inspired to create prose, poetry or song about that.
You should try the brown-sugar frosted mini wheats, Peg. But, be sure to have your seat belt fastened.
Oh and “Fruit Loops”. I saw what you did there.
Caught me totally off-guard with that one. Good job!
I’m glad. When I write these ‘gotchas’ it seems obvious to me. I am glad to know I do catch some readers off-guard.
Hello Lenore,
Your work has inspired me. I write a blog-ish thing called 100 Words A Day, which is almost never exactly 100 words, and is not currently even closer to daily. However, following WordPress tags for “100 words” brought me here, and I thought, “Cereal. I like cereal. I could do a drabble. Yeah, let’s do that.”
So, in case you’re interested, my cereal drabble is here:

Thank you very much, HG. I’m not sure I would do well at a 100 Words A Day. I tend to babble, and I think the 100-word drabble is the best I can hope to accomplish. (smile) Plus, I did a daily project last year, and it wiped me out.
I appreciate you visiting my ‘neighborhood’, and I will certainly visit you and read your cereal drabble. I hope you’ll write another one and share it with us.
