It’s Christmas! Well, no. It isn’t Christmas, yet. Still, I did hear the song, “Grandma got run over by a reindeer” in the Target store Friday. (True story.) Plus, I saw my first Christmas holiday shopping commercial of the season on television. So, while it is not Christmas yet, folks are thinking about Christmas.
I mean, my family is thinking about our Christmas picture. Well, in theory we are thinking about our Christmas picture. We still need a little practice to get it right. Thankfully, there is still time.

How this picture makes me giggle!
I am glad it makes you giggle, Deb. It makes me giggle, too. Charlie’s pose makes me laugh the most. (He’s on the right.)
Practice! I’m sure you’ll all be adorable. 🙂
Practice makes perfect, eh, Patti?
One of my favorite photog tips: instead of having the subjects in the photo looking towards the sun (like in your photo), squinting and being blinded, put their backs to the sun (use a person or nearby tree to block the sun, set the flash so it will be forced on, and snap away. No squinting!
I will give that a try, Susan. Thank you! We had a few good ones in this position, unfortunately – Joe was cranky about something, so he never smiled nicely. Rob and I looked great, though. We joked about using one of the good ones of us two and forget about how the kids look. (smile)
Love this 🙂 MJ
I do, too, MJ. I really do.
Thirded, Ms. D! You should TOTALLY use this one! It would be the sensation of the ’12 Holiday Season! 🙂
Hahaha! What’s your address, Robert – I’ll at least send you and A. a copy. 🙂
So funny, Lenore. The photos leading up to the “perfect one” are the best. Christmas music already? Nooooooooooo!
It is true, AA – the outtakes are far better than the final shot. I’m a fan of Christmas music – but before Halloween is even over? Uh, no thanks.
We have a lot of photos like that, Lenore, especially the ones of just the kids and me. My wife spends so much time focusing and fiddling with the camera that by the time she takes the picture, we’ve fallen asleep.
Hahahaha – that gave me a very good laugh, Charles.
