Project 366: Day 99

Legends tie the Dogwood tree to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The reddish tinge on the flower is said to represent the blood of Christ.

While I cannot attest to the validity of the legend, the story is one I remember this time of year – every year. So, in honor of Easter Sunday and Jesus, I give you the flower of the Dogwood.

Happy Easter. Today, may you make time to rest and give thanks, regardless of your faith or lack thereof.

Project 366: Day 97

Today is Good Friday, as well as the start of Passover. Both holidays leave me with a sense of rebirth – forgiveness of sin and freedom from slavery.

The sense of rebirth reminds me of a butterfly, which begins as a caterpillar and ends with beautiful wings that take flight. With that as the inspiration, I improvised. Happy holidays.
