Today, I literally went out and bought more candles for the house. I am not going to let the darkness discourage me. Instead, I will find light and step forward. And, as I look at the glow of our Christmas tree, I have a greater appreciation for the fact that the boys, after I hung the lights, decorated the entire tree themselves. Their work is surrounded in light. What a glorious light. My prayers remain with all those mourning the loss of a loved one.

Project 366: Day 348 Light
My heart goes out to the families directly affected by the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. In addition to those families, my heart goes out to the countless other families directly affected by violence that don’t appear in the headlines, become a trending topic on Twitter, or become a photo made viral via Facebook. Social media takes over during the ‘big’ events, while many deal with this sort of thing on a daily basis. Love, light, peace, and strength are my prayers for the families.
