December 2nd and a 2nd version to the song

As I said yesterday, two sisters of mine and I love the song, “O Holy Night”. Earlier this week, one of the sisters and I were going back and forth with emails about which performer’s version of “O Holy Night” was the best version.

In an effort to capture the spirit of Christmas, and the holidays in general, I thought it would be fun to share with you a different version of “O Holy Night” every day through December 25th. Continue reading “December 2nd and a 2nd version to the song”

25 Days and 25 Different Versions begins Now

Two sisters of mine and I love the song, “O Holy Night”. Earlier this week, one of the sisters and I were going back and forth with emails about which performer’s version of “O Holy Night” was the best version. Thanks to the email exchange, my sister introduced me to a new performer’s versions.

Point of clarification, the performer is not new. He has been around for years, and his voice is very well known on Broadway. However, though I recognized his voice, I had never before heard his version of “O Holy Night” until my sister shared it with me. (I’ll share his version later this month.)

This morning, I pulled together 25 different performers singing “O Holy Night”. While singing to myself I though, “Why not share these versions with the blogosphere? Share a little holiday cheer.” Continue reading “25 Days and 25 Different Versions begins Now”

One Friday Night on the Eve of Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, as I’m sure you knew –
The excitement is building, though the kids have the flu.
The tissues were piling up in the trash cans.
The fevers were making us rethink our plans.

The couch was filled with blankets and boys –
And, TV was preferred over playing with toys.
With plans on resting throughout the day –
In hopes the fevers would just go away.

The weather was changing, with a promise of snow.
And, were were home sick, with no place to go.
Still the presents were plenty, the Christmas spirit alive
We’ll make this a good one, without having to drive.

As the sun slowly sets, Santa hurries to fly –
While we wait to hear sleigh bells jingling in the sky.
So, hunker down now – and snuggle in tight –
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
